This Dempo group company manufactures pig iron. Plans to add further value to the product are on the anvil. Based on Tata Korf technology, this mini blast furnace based plant has a capacity of 160,000 TPA.

The salient features of the Tata Korf technology include simple construction, use of blast furnace gas for preheating the blast as well as for generating power. In fact, the entire plant runs on the captive power plant which is based on Blast Furnace gas. The plant has a capacity to produce over 160,000 tonnes per annum of foundry grade pig iron.

The company also produces granulated slag which is dried using hot flue gases and supplied to the slag cement industry. The furnace charging facility is designed to take care of higher productivity. An exclusive dedicated 10 km water pipeline has been laid from Salaulim reservoir which can cater to complete downstream facility requirement of steel making. For effective quality control and for tracking and delivering the required specifications, every heat is analysed, segregated and stacked separately.
