D.C.T.’s Vasantrao Dempo H.S.S. of Arts, Science and Commerce, Cujira, St. Cruz organized the All Goa BIO TAG Environment Quiz on 17th November 2017 in the Audio Visual room. The chief guest for the function was Dr. Hiremath, Associate Professor and Head of Department of Botany, DCT’s Dhempe College of Arts and Science, Miramar.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Hiremath urged the students to have an objective aim in life taking into consideration one’s caliber and potential. He called upon the students to think out of the box and to be ready to move out for better job opportunities. He impressed on students to be committed to their endeavors and not to compare themselves to others. The president of BIOTAG, Mrs. Shubhada Shirodkar also spoke on the occasion. She said that the environment is a life line to all human beings as it provides oxygen so it is our duty to nurture the environment.
The programme received an overwhelming response. In the quiz, Mushtifund H.S.S. Cujira, represented by Saniya M. Pednekar and Hrishikesh S. Kalangutkar emerged winners, Shubhan Kamat and Param Bhosle from Damodar H.S.S. Margao won the second place while Nikesh Goankar and Vibhav Prabhu from S.S. Angle H.S.S. Canacona won the third prize. The consolation prize was bagged by Purushottam Walawalkar H.S.S. Mapusa, the team comprising Anvisha Naik and Rounak Lotlikar. A poster competition on the theme ‘Connect to Nature‘ was also organized. The prizes were distributed at the hands of the Chief Guest, Dr. Hiremath, and Administrator of Dempo Charities Trust Shri. Rajesh Bhatikar and other dignitaries. Earlier, the chief guest lit the traditional lamp in the presence of the President and the Secretary of BIOTAG, Mrs. Shubhada Shirodkar and Mrs. Sharmila Madkaikar Carvalho respectively. Principal Mrs. Rupa Khope and Vice Principal Mrs. Rekha Keni Gurala.
Earlier Principal Mrs. Rupa S. Khope gave the welcome address, Vice Principal, Mrs. Rekha Keni Gurala introduced the chief guest, while Biology teacher Mrs. Swara Morajkar proposed a vote of thanks. Teacher, Mrs. Shubhada Bandodkar was the compere for the programme while teacher, Mrs. Leena Gad was the quiz master. Laboratory Assistant, Mrs. Mathura was the score keeper for the quiz.
D.C.T’s Vasantrao Dempo H.S.S. of Arts, Science and Commerce, Cujira, also conducted a Science Quiz ‘Brainvita‘ on 18th November, 2017 in the AV room. Questions in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, Earth Science and Computer Science were asked by the Coordinator of the Quiz and Quiz master, Senior teacher, Mrs. Surekha Kelkar. The quiz had five rounds i.e. Qualifying round, Elimination round, Brain diet, Situation and Speedometer. The team comprising Saavi Natekar and Ninad Khade Kumar emerged winners, while team comprising Kakkanti Kiranmai and Kawlewkar Siddhaved were the runners up. The prizes were distributed at the hands of the Principal, Mrs. Rupa Khope.
