The Annual General Body Meeting of the PTA of D.C.T’s Vasantrao Dempo Higher Secondary School of Arts Science and Commerce, Cujira was held recently. The Chief Guest was Dr. Vrinda Borkar, Principal of D.C.T’s Dhempe College of Arts and Science, Miramar. Speaking on the occasion, she called upon the parents to handle their teenagers with care. She reminded them that these were the crucial years of transition into adulthood. Earlier the rank holders of all three streams were felicitated at the hands of Dr. Borkar.
The new Executive Committee of the PTA was elected. Dr Renuka Rao was elected as the President. Mr. Akbar Khan was elected as Vice President. Mrs Saroj Tendulkar was nominated as the Secretary while Mr. Allen Diniz and Mr. Nivruthi Naik were elected as Joint Secretaries. Miss Twinkle Faterperkar was nominated as Treasurer and Mrs Shilpa Silimcan was nominated as the Joint Treasurer. Mrs Leena Dharwadkar was elected the Internal Auditor.
The following parents were elected as members: Mrs Anjana Amonkar, Mr. Kaustub Priolkar, Mr Antonio Mascarenhas, Mrs Sonali Pai, Mrs Celina Menezes, Mr. Daniel Alvares and Mr Roy Menezes. The following teachers were nominated as members: Mrs. Surekha Kelkar, Mrs. Darshita Chari, Mrs. Amelia Barreto and Mrs. Aparna Morya.
The Guest Speaker, Dr Jagdish Kakodkar addressed the parents on the topic ‘Dealing with teenagers in the digital age ‘. Earlier the Principal, Mrs. Rupa S Prabhu Khope, welcomed the gathering and introduced the Chief Guest and the guest speaker. The out going Vice President, Mr Manoj Mahale, thanked the Principal and expressed pleasure over having been a member of the PTA.
A vote of thanks was proposed by the new PTA President, Dr. Renuka Rao. The function was compared by Miss. Vanaja Mudaliar, teacher.
