Dempo Group extends grant to student robotics team from Goa for South Korea challenge
Dempo Group has extended a grant to Team Tech Infinity, the five-member student robotics team from Goa that will represent India at the FIRST Global Challenge 2026 in Incheon, Republic of Korea, from 7 to 10 October.
Team Tech Infinity earned the right to represent India after winning the Vikram Sarabhai Award for National Excellence at the Bharatiya Yantra Khel Mahotsav (BYKM) 2026, organised by the STEM Education Trust, the official India partner of FIRST Global.
The team comprises Anam Raza of Poddar School, Old Goa; Sparsh Swapnesh Verlekar, Dhruv Samir Salgaonkar and Soham Mahesh Redkar of Saraswat Vidyalaya, Mapusa; and Avaneesh Devendra Phadte of Mushtifund School, Panaji. The students have developed their robotics capabilities largely through self-learning, building, testing and improving their designs.
The 2026 FIRST Global Challenge brings together teams from nearly 195 nations. This year’s game, “Igniting Innovation”, focuses on using technology to reduce the risk and impact of fires and protect communities.
The Dempo Group grant supports the participation of the Goa-based Team India at the international competition.
