Dempo VishwaGramshala celebrated the 2020 New Year by signing an important new Memorandum of Understanding with the Directorate of Education, Government of Goa.

In a standing room only event held at the Directorate of Education in Porvorim on December 27, 2019, Dempo Vishwa Gramshala welcomed Village Stakeholders, Local Government Leaders and Parents to witness the historic signing.

Guest of Honour, the Honorable Chief Minister of Goa, Dr. Pramod Sawantaddressed the group, stressing the great potential of public/private partnerships in education embodied in the Dempo VishwaGramshalaprogramme, now completing its 3 year pilot at campuses in Sanguem and Pernem.

As the original pilot draws to a close, this new MOU sets the terms for DVG’s adoption of a complete, vertically integrated school system in Naveli comprising 3 Feeder primary Schools (Faneswadi, Maini and Naveli) and Government High School Naveli in Bicholim Taluka.

Chairman Shrinivas Dempo, Patron of Dempo VishwaGramshala, addressed the group, pledging DVG support in building academic excellence in this rural school system equal to any good urban school system.

The MOU was signed by newly appointed Director of Education (IAS) Ms. Vandana Rao and DVG Director, Dr. Victoria M. Chowgule.
