Goa’s only grand master in chess, Anurag Arvind Mhamal, stays on as Dempo Goodwill Ambassador for yet another year!

The renewal of the understanding by Dempo group concern, Devashri Nirman LLP, came in the year that followed his ascent to GM-hood, a first for Goa. The agreement was signed by GM Anurag in the presence of his father, Mr. Arvind Mhamal, at Dempo House, with Group CSR Head, Dr. Krishna Gopal Rajanala, General Manager (HR) representing the real estate promoter.

There is no doubt that Anurag Mhamal’s chess exploits have happened after his sporting pursuits began to be promoted by DEMPO!

The grand master is just back from a tough, bruising elite tournament of grand masters in the Isle of M an, UK.

23-year old Anurag, residing in Santa Cruz, and pursuing his B. Com. studies at the Indira Gandhi National Open University is a quiet, thoughtful chess player, adept at giant-killing, travelling all by himself to several places in the world on tournament participation for a number of years now.

By definition, GM Anurag is Goa’s highest ranked chess player. He also figures among India’s top 41 active players, among the top 111 active players of Asia, and among the 872 active players of the world, with a creditable rating of 2491 in standard chess.

The House of Dempo, especially Devashri Nirman LLP, is proud to assist GM Anurag Mhamal in his pursuit of further laurels for himself, for Goa, for India and for DEMPO!
