The Founder’s Day of DCT’s Vasantrao Dempo Higher Secondary school of Arts, Science and Commerce, Cujira was held on 4th March 2022 to mark the 106th birth anniversary of the founder, late Shri Vasantrao Dempo.
The programme began with paying floral tributes to the portrait of the founder by the Principal, Mrs. Surekha Kelkar, Vice principal, Miss. Minaxi Mudaliar and all teaching and Administrative staff
Speaking on the occasion, Principal, Mrs. Kelkar referred to the founder as being a great philanthropist who was always interested in contributing towards the welfare of the Goans. She spoke about his life and his contribution especially education.
The Vice principal, Miss Mudaliar recalled the founder as having excellent business acumen who founded the Dempo group of Industries and contributed to the economy of the country
Physical Education teacher, Shri Chetan Kavlekar also spoke how the founder was instrumental in providing educational institutions to help the students community and also his contribution in the field of Sports.
Senior Teacher, Mrs. Maya Sardessai, proposed the Vote of thanks and also compered the function.
