As DVG's 2023-2026 adoption programme entered its final phase last year, we decided that DVG would expand its future initiatives by adopting a government-aided school in addition to a government school. After much research and field scouting, two campuses –GHS Kirlawada Chimbel and aided-school Ideal High School Piligao– were selected. Beginning with the signing of an MOU with the Directorate of Education in March 2026, DVG moved forward with our plans for our fourth initiative of the Dempo Vishwa Gramshala Academic Excellence/Model School Adoption Programme with a projected tenure of three years 2026-2029
Each project, large and small, was targeted and specifically designed to solve problems and develop Teaching and Learning spaces into better spaces, and to bring about good practices on our campuses. As always, DVG acted with the strictest economy, re-purposing and refurbishing existing resources, trying to find solutions within the village context. DVG strives for sustainability, both environmentally, socially and culturally.
In just a few months, DVG's interventions, projects, and improvements have begun to transform how our campuses look, feel, and function. Although it is still early, these physical changes are already influencing stakeholder practices, behaviours, and the daily flow of campus life.
We are happy to present a small summary of projects now completed at our adopted campuses. Each project is a response to a particular need, and many have accompanying protocols to be introduced ensuring their proper usage. We hope that the Before and After photos speak for themselves and are a small preview of continuing DVG improvements planned for our new Stakeholders.
